Strain Centers

Good Ganoderma originates from its good strain source

High-quality Ganoderma comes from its fine strain. In order to ensure the high quality of authentic Ganoderma produced in Fujian from the strain source, GanoHerb has established three strain centers in Pucheng, Nanping, including a center for the selective breeding of strains, a strain cultivation center and a center for sprouting experiments.

As a Ganoderma germplasm bank rare in Fujian, GanoHerb Strain Center conducts abundant experiments on isolation, selective breeding, collection, identification, cultivation and sprouting of strains every year to provide breeding-related scientific research services for the Ganoderma industry in China and even the world.

Center for the Selective Breeding of Strains

The gene bank containing more than 500 Ganoderma strain sources

Through the wild collection, cross-breeding, space mutagenesis and other technical means, this center has conducted selective breeding of several new varieties of Ganoderma, some of which have been recognized by relevant national departments. At the same time, through exchanges with domestic and foreign institutions of higher learning and professional research institutions, this center has collected more varieties.

At present, GanoHerb Strain Center has selected, bred and collected more than 500 varieties of strains such as “Chizhi 119”, “S3”, “Zhi 102”, “Zhi 120”, “Wuzhi No. 2” and Hunong series, basically covering the varieties of Ganoderma currently artificially cultivated nationwide and even globally. It can not only ensure that the varieties of Ganoderma grown by GanoHerb are the best but also provide breeding-related scientific research services for the varieties specified by clients.

Strain Cultivation Center

3-stage preparation technology to purify and rejuvenate fine varieties

Strain cultivation refers to the process of placing the inoculated Ganoderma culture in an appropriate environment to promote the rapid recovery of its inoculated block so that the hyphae enter the medium and grow continuously and eventually fill the entire culture material with the nutrients provided by the medium.

The strain cultivation center is responsible for the following:
 1. Study the biological characteristics of the variety and adjust the temperature, humidity, oxygen, light and other environmental factors to the range optimal for the growth of Ganoderma.
2. Pay close attention to the growth of hyphae. Once an abnormality occurs, it is necessary to analyze the cause in time and take corresponding countermeasures.
3. In the process of strain cultivation, it is necessary to prevent the harm of mites, insects, rodents and other animals.
4. Check for infectious microbe regularly. If any contamination by infectious microbe is found, infectious microbe should be removed and isolated in time to avoid further expansion of the contamination.

Center for Sprouting Experiments

3-year sprouting experiments to optimize the screening of new strains

The sprouting experiment is the necessary way to test new varieties through practice, which allows the experimenters to understand the growth requirements, growth conditions, yields and other information of the new varieties.

In addition to the breeding and screening of new strains of Ganoderma, this center also helps to explore the improvement and optimization of Ganoderma cultivation techniques.
(1) The research on the rules of the digestion and transformation of lignin, cellulose and hemicellulose in the culture material by various varieties provides a theoretical basis for formulating better cultivation technology routes.
(2) The research on the biological characteristics of each strain will help researchers to determine high-yield and high-quality cultivation techniques.
In addition, the three-year repeated sprouting experiments mainly study the influence of environmental factors on the content of active ingredients in products, which provides a basis for the establishment of advanced cultivation technology modes.
(1) Study the effect of light source, light quality, light intensity and other environmental conditions on the active ingredients of Ganoderma lucidum such as polysaccharides and triterpenes;
(2) Study the effects of different tree species and cultivation modes on the yield and quality of Ganoderma.
