On the morning of September 4, the 2020 Annual Meeting of Medicinal Fungi Committee of China Edible Fungi Association and the Seminar for the Revision of the National Standard on Ganoderma Lucidum Spore Powder was grandly held at Fuzhou Strait International Conference & Exhibition Center (FSICEC). Since China’s reform and opening up, as an emerging strategic “edible, medicinal and medical” industry, the edible fungi industry has developed into an indispensable part of the construction of ecological agriculture. All kinds of edible mushrooms with various shapes and rich nutrition have become delicious delicacies on popular dining tables and health treasures for the common people.
 
According to Yan Keshi, Deputy Mayor of the People’s Government of Fuzhou City, relying on the natural advantages of beautiful mountains and clean waters in recent years, Fuzhou has promoted modern facility cultivation, developed rare characteristic varieties such as Reishi mushroom and cultivated a number of local characteristic advantageous products such as Pleurotus geesteranus. China’s largest Pleurotus geesteranus production base is in Luoyuan County, Fujian Province. Ganoderma lucidum from GANOHERB has been exported to more than 30 countries and regions. Aujourd'hui, the “Fu Fungi” brand, which is characterized by greenness and organicity, has become a bright business card for the agriculture of Fuzhou city and even Fujian province.

“For any industry to develop steadily, the development and improvement of the industry standards must be paid attention to.” According to experts from China National Institute of Standardization, the “Normes sur les techniques de récolte et de traitement de la poudre de spores de Ganoderma Lucidum” (GB /T 29344-2012) is currently the only national standard in the Ganoderma lucidum spore powder industry. This standard has been implemented for more than seven years and it is necessary to be amended because only the standard that keeps pace with the times can adapt to the new requirements of the market and can be further used to regulate and promote the healthy development of the Ganoderma lucidum spore powder industry.

An expert from China National Institute of Standardization said that “the prerequisite for the industry to go global is that standards go ahead of the rest”.

The market demand for Ganoderma lucidum is huge, and the spore powder is the main force. “In the opinion of Li Ye, President of GANOHERB, the harvesting and processing process has a great influence on the quality of Ganoderma lucidum spore powder and even directly determines the quality of the final product of Ganoderma lucidum spore powder. The revision of this standard will further improve the quality of Ganoderma lucidum spore powder in China and enhance the level of the standardization and internationalization of the spore powder industry in China.

After the exciting launching ceremony, Sun Xiaobo, Director of the Institute of Medicinal Plant Development, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, also gave a wonderful report at the meeting. He believed that the high-quality development of traditional Chinese medicine is a major national demand, and high-quality Chinese medicine products must need the construction of the whole process quality standard and the establishment of the whole process quality traceability system. GANOHERB has been certified organic by China, les États-Unis, Japan and the European Union for 15 consecutive years. It has organized the development of more than a dozen national, industry and group standards. It adopts high standards and good raw materials sources to ensure the high quality of products. Any industry needs to pursue such a high standard.
