Here’s what you need to know about drinking

Drinking on social occasions has become the norm for many professionals. However, if you drink a lot of alcohol over a long period of time, it can easily damage your body, especially your liver.

Asian flush is a manifestation of angiectasis in the body.

Studies have pointed out that changes in face color do not indicate one’s drinking
capacity. There are many reasons for flushing after drinking, and one of the main reasons is the genetic deletion of Aldehyde Dehydrogenase 2 in the body. The lack of this enzyme means that the individual cannot quickly process one of the byproducts of the body’s metabolism of alcohol-Acetaldehyde, and the most obvious manifestation of excessive accumulation of acetaldehyde in the body is redness of the face or skin, so some individuals flush as soon as they drink alcohol.

That face color turns white after drinking alcohol is a manifestation of insufficient blood supply in vivo.
As for the face color’s turning white after drinking alcohol, these people have no high-activity alcohol dehydrogenase and acetaldehyde dehydrogenase in their bodies, so they rely on the P450 enzyme in the liver to oxidize slowly. In order to provide blood on the liver, the lack of blood supply on the face will lead to “white face”. Such people can easily suffer from alcoholism if they drink too much.

Being good at drinking is bad for health.
Whether a person is good at drinking or not mainly depends on the activity of acetaldehyde dehydrogenase in the body instead of face color after drinking. Too much alcohol will increase the burden on the liver. If you feel that you are good at drinking, unlimited drinking will not only impair the liver function but also cause alcoholism.

Getting drunk once is equal to suffering from hepatitis once.

The Chinese Dietary Guidelines 2016 clearly recommends daily alcohol consumption: Male’s daily alcohol consumption should not exceed 25 grams while female’s daily alcohol consumption should not exceed 15 grams. Children, pregnant women and lactating women should not drink alcohol. The formula for calculating alcohol intake: Alcohol consumption X alcohol concentration X 0.8 = Alcohol Intake.
For a bottle of ordinary “red wine”, the alcohol level is generally 10 degrees (10 percent). Men should not drink more than 250 milliliters (0.25 kilo) in a single day, and women should not drink more than 150 milliliters (0.15 kilo) in a single day.

For a bottle of liquor at 50 degrees, male friends are not recommended to take more than 50 ml per day, and female friends are not recommended to take more than 30 ml per day.

Be that as It may, in terms of social engagement, 0.4 or even 0.5 kilos is common. Since the safe alcohol consumption is exceeded, what can be done to minimize the stimulation of alcohol on the liver and nervous system?

Choose low wine.
Generally, in the same amount, the damage of high wine to the liver and other organs is greater than that of low wine. The alcohol content of distilled liquor in the world is generally around 40% vol (representing 40% alcohol), so it is best to choose light wine on the banquet.

Liquor and yellow rice wine should be drunk warmly, which is less harmful.
In the heating process, methanol, aldehydes, ethers and other organic compounds will evaporate as the temperature increases, and ethanol will also evaporate a little, so that the concentration of wine is slightly reduced, thereby reducing the damage on the liver.

Drink plenty of water during drinking wine.
In the gap between drinking, you can drink more plain boiled water, which can accelerate the discharge of alcohol from urine and reduce the burden on the liver.

Before drinking wine, eat foods rich in starch and high protein, but do not eat bacon or salted fish because they will react with alcohol and hurt the liver.

Avoid drinking wine with other beverages.
Drinking alcohol mixed with other alcoholic beverages, carbonated drinks, tea beverages and other beverages will undoubtedly ingest too much alcohol, carbon dioxide and carbohydrates, and the simultaneous intake of these substances will inevitably increase your drunkenness and hurt gastrointestinal system and liver.

Sipping will not easily cause drunkenness.
Drink alcohol slowly. Take a small sip. Binge drinking not only makes you drunk but also causes more damage to the respiratory tract, stomach and other organs.

Eat cold vegetable dish.
Between drinking, you can order a salad with radishes. Radish can detoxify and reduce liver damage.

Watermelon is preferred fruit after the meal.
After the meal, you may not be able to eat anything else. But you should try to eat as much watermelon as possible because it can help to remove alcohol from your body.
